We’re so proud to have welcomed three talented apprentices to STM Agency over the last several months. Mercy, Hope, and Alex have settled in nicely with the Finance, Client Services, and Web Development teams, and are already sharing their bright ideas.
To celebrate #NationalApprenticeshipWeek, we’ve decided to showcase each of our brilliant apprentices with a short interview about their time and life at the agency.
Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship?
I decided to do an apprenticeship because I wanted to gain the skills, knowledge, and experience from a job which I wouldn’t get at university doing just theory. I wanted to jump into a job environment straight away so that the skills I gain from my apprenticeship can give me an advantage to potential employers at any future jobs.
How are you finding working at STM Agency?
I’m really enjoying working at STM Agency! Everyone is very welcoming, and I feel like I have support from everyone at the agency. There is a friendly and fun office dynamic which makes me look forward to going in. It’s also exciting to work in an office environment for the first time and experience ‘agency life’.
Can you tell us something you’ve learned while you’ve been at the agency?
I’ve learned plenty of tips on using software I was unfamiliar with before such as Excel, Synergist and even Teams. Furthermore, I’ve learned the unspoken rules of client services and how to best impress clients.
How has the support from mentors or colleagues contributed to your experience so far?
I’ve had the most support from my line manager who always makes time for me to ask any questions or go through what I am struggling with her. I’ve also had support from all of the client services team who are constantly getting me involved in bits for them and offering to take me on shoots and client meetings.
What accomplishments are you most proud of since starting your apprenticeship?
I’m proud of the work that I’ve done with one particular client and the relationship I’m starting to build with them through meetings and taking on more jobs for them.
How would you describe the company culture?
The culture in the company is good. We have a HR team who are planning fun socials for the agency and really get everyone across the agency involved.
What do you enjoy most about working at STM Agency?
I enjoy the people that I am working with and the experience the agency is giving me as an account manager.
What’s something you’re looking forward to?
I’m really looking forward to getting my own account/clients and building relationships with them which in turn will help benefit the business. I’m also looking forward to my college course and working towards a great end of year grade.
